Wednesday - "Forgiveness"

Ephesians 4:32 (NLT)
“32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”

Forgiveness can be a challenging form of kindness. Many of us refuse to show it because of the damage that was done to us. We think to ourselves that the person hasn't "earned" it....or doesn't "deserve" it. While this might be the case...it shouldn't stop us from extending forgiveness. Why? Simply because Jesus has forgiven us.

Think about your day yesterday. Were you short with somebody? Find yourself telling a little white lie? Raise your voice? Get impatient? Lose your temper? Forget to pray? Make a selfish decision? (I could go on...but I think you get the idea...)

Truth is...God will forgive you if you ask Him...for all of that.

Why can't we forgive those that have wronged us? Why can't we extend that level of kindness?

That's my challenge to you this morning... someone you know needs you to forgive them. A parent...a friend...a brother...you know who they are...

Make the decision to extend forgiveness to someone who has needed it for awhile... they haven't asked for it... you might not feel they deserve it... but we serve a God who has forgiven us...

God is so kind and loving...let's be that for someone else today.

See you tomorrow,
Pastor Brian
