Greetings Internet Campus Family,
Acts 2:42 (ESV): 42“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”
We have learned this week about devotion and church...our study would not be complete without looking at prayer. How do prayer and the church relate? Three ways:
1) Pray for the church itself - One of the ways that we can show our devotion to our church is to pray. Pray for the leadership, the staff, and all of the volunteers who serve there...pray for the finances, the technology, the maintenance, and the preschool...basically anything you can think of in the church could use your prayer. Pray for each of the 6 campuses...and for those coming in the future. Pray for the vision - 50 campuses, 100,000 in attendance, and 150 million dollar budget.
2) Pray for each other - Another way for demonstrate our devotion to the church through prayer is to pray for the people that attend. Each weekend there are so many people who come who don't know God. They have no relationship with Jesus Christ and have no hope for their future. Pray for them. Pray that God will open their hearts to hear the message of salvation. There are so many attendees that hurt inside...have struggles financially...or just need some encouragement. Let's lift up each and every face that comes through the door...
3) Pray for our lead Pastor - A third way for us to pray is to lift up our lead Pastor...Pastor Troy Gramling. Pray for him, his health, and his family. I remember the message where Pastor Troy talked about the lifting up of Moses arms. Moses had to keep the staff of God raised above his head to ensure victory but was struggling. It took others under him to keep his arms up. By praying for our lead Pastor...we get to keep Pastor Troy's arms up...to support him when he gets tired, encourage him when he needs it, and provide the energy and enthusiasm that the word of God deserves when shared from the stage.
We CAN show devotion to the church through prayer. Are you ready to make a difference?
See you tomorrow,
Pastor Brian

TOTALLY Inspiring post! Sometimes we can get busy doing and forget to take time to pray. Not realizing that prayer is one of the most important things we can DO to help. I am not immune from this type of forgetfulness. I often leave my prayer time for the end of the day and fall asleep praying. I need to carve out time throughout the day to pray. Thanks for the reminder!
