Wednesday "Different"

Greetings Internet Campus,

Genesis 1:27 (NLT2) 27 So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

Today we're going to dig deep.  I mean it.... get your minds ready...

Men are different than women.  It's true.  If you've been in a relationship longer than 10 minutes, this fact has probably become glaringly apparent.  We can either embrace this fact or war against it...it doesn't change the fact that it is absolute truth.

We communicate differently, handle emotional situations differently, argue differently, think differently...I could go on.  You get the point.  What are we supposed to do about it?  Here's my suggestion.  Celebrate it...don't try to change it.

It seems that many of our conflicts as married couples come as a result of us taking the way we are and assuming that's the way we both should be.    The wife assumes that her husband should be a communicator because she is....the husband feels that his wife should be a fixer because he is...  The key here... compromise.  He may never express his feelings the way you think he should...she may never solve a problem with logic the way you think she should...that needs to be ok.

Look for common ground...bend a little...learn each other and celebrate the way God made your spouse.  We are different for a reason!

Your marriage will thrive as a result!

Write it Down:   Make a list of three differences that you and your spouse have.  Pray today that God will allow you to concentrate on celebrating these instead of trying to change them.

See you tomorrow!
Pastor Brian
