Greetings Internet Campus,
This week we've talked about rhythm and how our lives sync up to God's purpose. Today we're looking at our last point...community
Ephesians 4:7 (TM)….until we're all moving rhythmically and easily with each other, efficient and graceful in response to God's Son, fully mature adults, fully developed within and without, fully alive like Christ.
I was listening to my iPod the other day and ran across the Simon and Garfunkle classic "I Am a Rock" (I guess it was after I listened to "We Didn't Start the Fire" ) The lyrics talk about being alone...isolated...and content. Is that you today? Are you all that you need?
I've got to be honest...I've felt that way. I have actually believed in my life that I am best when I am by myself. I couldn't have been more wrong.
When we are in rhythm with God...we see value in partnering with other people. Other believers have thoughts you don't have...skills you don't have...they bring value to your life. I will even go as far as to say you can't truly be in rhythm with God without being in rhythm with His people. Yes...I went there. You just can't.
If we are going to accomplish the purposes that God has placed in our lives...if we are going to be relevant we have to partner with people. If you don't believe me...think of it another way. There is somebody in your life right now that needs your skill set, your knowledge, and your influence. They may never express it...but if you don't get in community with them, their lives will lack something that they could have had.
Want to fulfill your purposes? Get into a small group...serve with others on a ministry team... Here on the internet campus we are always looking for online volunteers and people that want to start small groups in their home. We have a few groups...but we are looking for so many more! I know, the Internet Campus is great because you can stay disconnected and still go to church. That is NOT why we are here. Christianity and true growth does not happen in a vacuum of isolation. If you want to sync up with God's beat for your life...make an effort to get involved in the lives of others that attend here...I promise you will go from "being an island" to leaning on the Rock (Jesus) when you are looking for guidance.
Write it Down: Today in your journal, write down what you plan to do to get connected with others in community here on the Internet Campus. Pray that God will reveal how to do this.
See you tomorrow for our weekly recap, memory verse, and weekend challenge. I pray for all of you daily and thank you for staying with us here on the Internet Campus blog.
Blessings!
Pastor Brian

My name is Shani and for awhile I've been feeling lonely. At school, there is a bible club with other christian kids. I want to reach out to them, but I don't know how. They're all friends and I feel like an outsider.
I've decided not even to go to bible club anymore because I feel bad when I see them all together while I'm sitting alone.
