Greetings Internet Campus,
This week we have talked about becoming one in all aspects of our marriages. I know some of these have been tough, but they are all necessary if we are going to have the committed relationship that God designed marriage to be. Here are some questions/thoughts for you to think through today during your quiet time and this weekend as we come together online!
HEART
1) How much time do you spend "studying" your spouse's loves, values, and feelings?
2) Why do most couples ignore those three things?
SOUL
3) Why is there so much emphasis on having the same belief in Christ as a couple?
4) What potential problems occur if there is a difference in faith?
MIND
5) How many minutes per day do you spend in honest, attentive communication with your spouse?
6) What can you change next week to make that a longer time?
STRENGTH
7) Which of these areas in your marriage is the weakest right now
A) Physical intimacy - An open discussion about sex and how to make it better
B) Financial security - A refocusing on the role of money and how to manage it.
C) Relational Understanding - Discussing the role of external friendships on your marriage
8) How can you make those physical areas stronger?
Thanks for coming this week. I hope that some of these devotionals have been helpful in evaluating where you are as a couple...and where Christ wants to take you!
See you this weekend on campus!

i just had to comment on the whole issue of being equally yoked, because as i'm spending time thinking this over, i had a few thoughts that i wanted to share.
my husband believes in god; he believes in jesus but he does not actively seek a relationship with god. i have invited him to church and can usually get him to go with me at christmas (its a set part of my christmas gift that he go with me =) )
but he doesn't go otherwise and we don't share that part of our lives at all. now i've always felt it would be great if he were seeking to know god as i am, but i have accepted the way he is and i don't often pray about it or anything.
but as i thought about what it means to be yoked, it refers to being yoked to a camel/horse/cow(???) to direct them and get them where you need them to go, right?
so if two people are yoked to a camel and one is committed to going one way and the other is either not as committed or is committed to going in a different direction - you have a weak team going nowhere! wow - i need to pray about this BIG-TIME from now on - we all do!
i just always took it as being that you both believe in the same faith (both of us DO believe in Christ), but its way more than that! its actually referring to COMMITMENT!
it was my AHA moment - thanks for helping me to see that - and i thought i'd share it! sorry to send such a long comment =)
